Wildlife & Natural Habitat:

I am now in the habit of ensuring that my camera remains handy whenever I take a countryside walk.

Here are just some of my favourite wildlife and Nature pictures from those walks:

"Happy Hare"

An early Summer walk near home in Bavaria.

After spotting deer, a wild pig and squirrels during an early-Summer Sunday afternoon walk, I noticed 3 hares frolicking in a nearby field. I approached very carefully and this was the result.

Currently one of my favourite pictures.

"Wolfsschlucht"

If one follows one of The Southern Black Forest trails from Kandern to Holzen one comes across this small clearing, known as Wolfsschlucht, which exudes a truly magical atmosphere.

"A rare but welcome sight"

This lovely inquisitive Nutcracker is a resident of the Triberg valley. Living in the forests surrounding Germany's world-famous largest cascade of waterfalls.

"Hiding in The Black Forest"

This deer was one of a small family hiding from the afternoon sun in the grapevines of The Black Forest on a hot September day.

Urwelt Museum - Kleinholzhausen

(The Primeval Musuem in Kleinholzhausen - Upper Bavaria)

On the left we see a very friendly living resident of the Primeval Museum near to Bad Feilnbach, Upper Bavaria. One of a family of three Brothers and Sisters who are often found frequenting the adjacent beer garden on warm Summer days.

Left: This little lizard was basking in the sun in Southern Germany. Fortunately, the fly was spared and escaped.

Right: Relaxing on a rocky wall in the Vinschgau valley of Süd Tirol, Northern Italy, on a hot early June day.
